No, it's not just point-n-click; it's waaaaay crazier than that.
Try to actually figure it out. Utilize everything but walkthroughs. This includes all kinds of tricky internet stuff. Not for the easily frustrated. I'm told later in the game it might have questionable material, though I cannot vouch this. Use your discretion at work, I guess.
Also, I recognize that there is a very real chance that this is older than the term "melt faces", to which I reply, suck it, I've been doing things, and don't read this much these days.
